
Aarle-Rixtel is situated in beautiful green surroundings in the province of North Brabant. The Brabantse Kluis borders nature reserve The Biezen and is close to nature reserve The Grotelse Heide. Ever since the Dark Ages, the inhabitants of the Peel used to cut peat here, which was used as fuel.
The municipality of Aarle-Rixtel is made up of two historical town centers, Aarle and Rixtel. The town is most known for its textile factory and its bell-foundry. The town has the oldest bell-foundry in Europe, named Petit & Fritsen. Aarle-Rixtel also has the Croy Estate, with the beautiful Castle Croy. The oldest parts of the castle date back as far as the fifteenth century.
Ever since 1997, the town of Aarle-Rixtel is part of the larger municipality of Laarbeek, together with the towns of Beek en Donk, Lieshout and Mariahout. The municipality of Laarbeek has as its slogan ?Water gate of the Peel?, which means there is also a lot of water to be found. For example, the Wilhelmina Canal and the Zuid-Willems Canal intersect right here in Laarbeek.

In our region, you can find beautiful bicycle and hiking trails. The extensive network of bicycle trails passes close to our inn and the network of hiking trails even starts at our inn itself.
We are also part of the Goose Route, a bicycle trail for children which passes by several companies in the direct surroundings.
The municipality is at about four kilometers from Helmond, 14 kilometers from Eindhoven and 31 kilometers from 's-Hertogenbosch. The secondary road N279 directs the through traffic from 's-Hertogenbosch/Veghel past Aarle-Rixtel to Helmond and vice versa.
The municipality of Laarbeek borders the municipality of Gemert, The Netherlands? herb village. In Gemert you will find their connection to herbs in many fields again and again. For example, the town is decorated with numerous herb boxes and it has various herb gardens.
In the center of Gemert you will find another castle. It is not open to visitors, but its structures are perfectly visible from the roads around it. Via a little avenue south of the town's market, you can reach the castle's picturesque gate building.
